The one-off Ferrari F12 TRS
When your pockets are deep enough, the special operation divisions of the world’s luxury and supercar makers are your playground. And one Ferrari client has spent a repute £2.5 million to create a one-off F12 – the Ferrari F12 TRS – twice the price of LaFerrari. Still obviously a Ferrari F12, the F12 TRS gets a pretty dramatic makeover, inspired by the 1967 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa, from Ferrari Special Projects, design chief Flavio Manzoni and the Ferrari Style Centre.

Today we have official photos of the 2012 Mercedes SL, thanks not to Mercedes Benz, but a German car forum. Yesterday we had the first photo of the 2012 Mercedes SL after a scan of Mercedes new SL turned up on the web. We expected that leak would galvanise Mercedes-Benz to bring forward the release of official photos of the SL a bit ( we were expecting them tomorrow), but it hasn’t so far.
Like the Oscars of the Otto cycle, the Grammys of gasoline, the International Engine of the Year Awards are a big deal in the industry. For 2013, the awards will continue to focus on green technology, pitting gasoline, compressed natural gas (CNG), hybrid and all-electric powerplants against each other for the title of "international engine of the year." Ford's 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine took top honors last year. Besides the top award, other categories include best green engine, best new engine and best performance engine, each voted on by journalists from around the world.
